Basketball

BASKETBALL
My first time ever really learning how to play basketball was last summer, it was supposedly in March. I came outside thinking I was going to be the best player out their. But, I had another thing coming; I tried to shoot about 60 times. ! BONG! Every time I shot I missed, so after that they were like lets let it down so, we can see if you can dunk. When I was about to dunk I was thinking that I was going to gain their respect but, I fell. Everybody outside was laughing, “Ha ha ha you can’t dunk.” So I went in the house and wouldn’t come out for about four days.

After four days I thought to myself I didn’t care what they thought, I’m going to try again. So after four more days of practicing I started getting better, my shot was way better and my dribbling ability was really good. I went up for the dunk and I ………….. Missed.

I was so mad that I just wanted to explode. But, I kept my cool and kept trying. I tried about ten more times. After that last dunk I had to go in the house. When I got home I kept trying to jump higher and higher. Here came the weekend I was so happy because, usually my mom took me to the YMCA. That’s were I could play with really good people. Also, really nice competition that is really hard to beat.

After my uncle gave me an inspirational talk I was ready to go try to dunk. At the same time I wasn’t sure, I said to my self you can do it but, at the same time I told myself I couldn’t do it. I just went outside and tried again, I went up for the dunk and I made it but it wasn’t a clear dunk it bounced around and every one was like that’s not a dunk that’s a layup. Night came and I had to go inside. I had that dunk on my mind for the rest of the night. For some odd reason I even dreamed about the dunk, it was a consistent though. So when I went back outside and I tried to work on my shot. I really didn’t want to try to dunk today so I was just messing around.

When I was I outside I was improving my skills really all around skills. Like my skills to shoot and, skills to dribble. Every thing improved so, I went for the dunk again and I …………………………………….. made it a perfect dunk everyone was cheering.

So that’s states to never give up, because you don’t know what would happen.
